Hollie Stalder free throws with under a second to play lifted WT to a 59-58 victory over the #16 Yellowjackets of Montana State-Billings at the Ocean Center Arena in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Jayla Burgess led the way for the Lady Buffs as the junior from Tulsa went 8-of-10 from the floor including 1-of-2 from the free throw line for a career-high 17 points to go along with one rebound and a block.
Karley Motschenbacher finished with 11 points and five rebounds while
Grace Alvarez chipped in 10 points with five boards and four assists.
The Lady Buffs finished the night going 25-of-55 (45.5%) from the floor including 2-of-10 (20%) from deep and 7-of-14 (50%) from the free throw line to go along with 41 rebounds (12 offensive, 29 defensive), eight assists, 20 turnovers, three blocks and a steal.
Kola Bad Bear led the way for the Yellowjackets as the senior from Billings went 7-of-12 from the floor including a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe for a game-high 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and a steal. MSUB went 16-of-52 (30.8%) from the field including 4-of-23 (17.4%) from deep and 22-of-25 (88%) from the line to go along with 28 rebounds, 10 assists, 11 turnovers, three blocks and nine steals.
The Lady Buffs close out the Daytona Beach Shootout on Sunday evening as they take on LSC foe St. Mary's with tipoff set for 6:00 p.m. CT at the Ocean Center Arena.
