DALLAS, TX- The No. 6 West Texas A&M Lady Buffs swept the Angelo State Rambelles (25-19, 25-23, 25-17) in the Lone Star Conference Semifinals to advance to the LSC Championship match set for Saturday, Nov. 18 at 3:00 p.m. CT in Dallas, Texas in the DBU Burg Center. The Lady Buffs will face off against Texas A&M Kingsville in the finals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Buffs came out to a hot start taking an early lead in the first, an improvement to how the Lady Buffs normally have started down in the first sets of the season. The Rambelles stood point for point up until the five point mark where that was the last tie of the set. The Lady Buffs had multiple hitters contributing with Camy Jones and Brynne Wright on each pin putting the ball down. WT would go on a 2-0 run to force the first timeout of the set called by ASU at 19-16. The three-point lead was the largest margin of the set at this point. A couple of errors by the Rambelles would give the Lady Buffs the finish at 25-19. 

The second set saw the Lady Buffs playing catch up after going down 4-8. The Rambelles would reach 10 points first but the Lady Buffs would go on a run to take a two point lead at 12-10. Torrey Miller played smart with hard hitting kills followed by smart tips right over the Rambelles block with both decisive plays falling on the opponents court. The block came alive on the opposite pin and Jones, Emma Becker and Taytum Stow shut down the pins for ASU. WT would go on to win the tight set at 25-23. 

The third set saw the Lady Buffs out in front at 9-6 before the Rambelles called their first timeout of the set. ASU came back within one but the Lady Buffs held onto the lead to finish the match at 25-17, the largest deficit of the match. Carly Evetts finished the match hitting .417 with five kills and Bryli Contreras contributed 15 digs in left back. The Lady Buffs would out block the Rambelles 10 to 4 in the match.   
 
BY THE NUMBERS
Torrey Miller and Emma Becker led the Lady Buffs in kills with 10 a piece. Miller had 33 attempts with four errors to hit .182 while Becker had 23 attempts with two errors to hit .348. Ainsley Malis led with 22 assists while Emma Patterson led in digs for the second time this season with 20. Taytum Stow had a dominating night at the net with 7 blocks and 13 points to lead the Lady Buffs in both categories. 

MILESTONES

• WT moves to an overall 55-11 (.832) record during the LSC Tournament
• Head coach Kendra Potts moves to 10-2 overall during the conference tournament 
• Friday's victory marks the second year in a row that WT defeated ASU in the LSC tournament with the last win taking place on Nov. 10, 2022
• Torrey Miller has back-to-back double-doubles in the LSC tournament with 10 kills and 19 digs in the semifinals match (13 kills, 12 digs in the quarterfinals)
• Taytum Stow led in points (13) for the third time this season
