DALLAS, TX- The No. 6 West Texas A&M Lady Buffs swept the Texas Woman's Pioneers (25-10, 25-23, 25-15) to advance to the Lone Star Championship semifinals set for Friday, Nov. 17 at 5:00 p.m. CT in Dallas, Texas in the DBU Burg Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Buffs took a dominating lead in the first set at 6-2 before the Pioneers came back within two at 10-8. There were five lead changes in the first set but the Lady Buffs would close out with a 15 point lead to reach 25 first. Four Lady Buffs hit above .400 in the first set led by junior 
Brynne Wright who hit .750 with three kills on four attempts. 
The second set saw a back-and-forth fight between the Lady Buffs and Pioneers as they went point for point up until 15 points. The Pioneers took a lead as they hit the 20-point mark first. The Lady Buffs would take their second timeout as they fought back being down three points at 17. 
Emma Becker would put a hit down on the 10-foot line to build momentum to then have 
Emma Patterson ace the Pioneers. The Lady Buffs went on a 3-0 run to tie it up at 20-20. A couple of hitting errors from the Pioneers along with a couple of kills by 
Carly Evetts and a finishing block would give the Lady Buffs the edge on the close set at 25-23.  
The third and final set of the match was a battle in the beginning before the Lady Buffs took off with it to finish 25-15. WT outscored TWU is kills (45 to 30) and digs (43 to 41). Three players almost had double digit kills in a three-set match with Wright and Evetts each having nine and 
Emma Becker with eight to contribute. 
BY THE NUMBERS
Torrey Miller led the Lady Buffs in kills for the ninth time this season with 13 kills on 28 attempts with three errors to hit .357. 
Ainsley Malis led with 22 assists with 
Bryli Contreras leading in digs with 20. 
Taytum Stow contributed with five leading blocks for the Lady Buffs. 
MILESTONES
	- WT moves to an overall 54-11 (.830) record during the LSC Tournament
- Head coach Kendra Potts moves to 9-2 overall during the conference tournament 
- Thursday's victory marks the first time WT defeated TWU in the LSC tournament since Nov. 8, 2018
