Reagan Matacale salvaged a draw for the West Texas A&M women's soccer team against UT Tyler. The draw moved the Lady Buffs record to 1-5-5 overall and 0-3-3 in Lone Star Conference play while the Patriots moved to 2-2-8 overall,
It didn't take long for the game's first goal as UT Tyler pushed up the field just over a minute into the game. After a WT foul, the Patriots' sent the ensuing free kick into the box. As
Reagan Heelan came off her line, Alyssa Palisi broke free from her defender to beat Heelan to the ball. The Lady Buffs responded to UT Tyler's goal with an offensive try of their own as
Avery Putnam had her shot blocked out of bounds. WT couldn't find a clean look off the corner kick as the Patriots cleared the ball. With 14 minutes to play before halftime, the Lady Buffs caught the Patriots in transition. After receiving a pass from

Jasmine Gibson drew a foul on the edge of the penalty box.
Bailey Malone stepped up to take the free kick but watched her attempt sail over the crossbar. With less than 10 seconds to go before halftime, the Patriots looked to extend their lead but had their last-second shot hit the crossbar.
UT Tyler controlled the pace early in the second half as WT struggled to retain possession. After a pair of Patriot shots, the Lady Buffs registered their first shot of the second half in the 71
st minute. At that point,
Sophie Osman forced a save out of Daniella Wilken. UT Tyler recorded another pair of shots before WT took possession. With just over 13 minutes to play,
Avery Putnam took her dribble towards the touch line before crossing to Matacale inside the box. After beating a pair of defenders, Matacale lifted a shot over Wilken and into the side netting. The Lady Buff defense bent after the game-tying goal but didn't break including a pair of shots with less than three minutes to play. One of those shots came with 31 seconds to play as Heelan converted her fourth save of the afternoon.
The Lady Buffs hit the road once again for a road contest at Angelo State. The Rambelles are set to host WT on Wednesday, Oct. 18 with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
