Scoring Droughts Doom #17 West Texas A&M in Denton, 62-52

CANYON, Texas – The #17 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M could never find a rhythm offensively on Thursday night as they shot just 32.3% from the floor in a 62-52 Lone Star Conference crossover loss to the #9 Pioneers of Texas Woman's at Kitty Magee Arena in Denton, Texas.
 
Karley Motschenbacher paced the WT offense as the sophomore guard went 6-of-8 from the floor including 2-of-3 from deep for a team-high 15 points to go along with six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Zamorye Roberts finished the night with 12 points followed by Hollie Stalder with eight.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the night going 21-of-65 (32.3%) from the floor including 6-of-29 (20.7%) from deep and 4-of-5 (80%) from the free throw line to go along with 35 rebounds (nine offensive, 26 defensive), 13 assists, three blocks and 11 steals.
 
Sadie Moyer led the way for the Pioneers as the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma product went 4-of-9 from the floor including 6-of-6 from the stripe for a team-high 15 points to go along with eight rebounds and two steals. TWU went 21-of-53 (39.6%) from the field including 4-of-11 (36.4%) from behind the arc and 16-of-24 (66.7%) from the stripe to go along with 43 rebounds (nine offensive, 34 defensive), nine assists, six blocks and five steals.
 
The Lady Buffs close out their road trip on Saturday afternoon as they make their way to Tyler, Texas to take on the Patriots of UT Tyler in Lone Star Conference crossover action at the Herrington Patriot Center with tipoff set for 1 p.m.
