#14 Lady Buffs Split Final Day of BritKare Tournament

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M's Torrey Miller, Kayla Elliott and Taytum Stow earned All-Tournament accolades as the #14 Lady Buffs split action on the final day of the 2022 BritKare Lady Buff Classic in Canyon on Saturday.  

MATCH 1 
#14 West Texas A&M 3, St. Mary's 1 (25-16, 22-25, 25-9, 25-22)
 
The Lady Buffs led of the day off with a victory as All-Tournament honorees Torrey Miller and Taytum Stow combined for 23 kills on 40 swings.  Stow had zero errors in the match, hitting .688 while Blair Moreland dished out 23 assists and Emma Patterson led with 17 digs. 
 
WT finished the match with 55 kills on 111 swings with 11 attack errors to hit .396 with 48 assists, seven aces, six blocks and 68.0 total points. WT defense allowed an attack percentage of .129 on the against the Grizzlies.

#12 Northwest Missouri State 3, #14 West Texas A&M 1 (25-16, 25-22, 29-17, 25-22)
 
By the Numbers
Miller led the way offensively for WT with a season-high kills on 22 swings with just six attack errors to hit .320 on the night followed by Abi Nash with 11.  Blair Moreland paced the WT offense with 24 assists to go along with nine digs while Emma Patterson led the way with 20 digs in the loss.
 
The Lady Buffs registered 56 kills on 146 swings with 20 attack errors to hit .247 in the match to go along with 50 assists, 67 digs, seven blocks and 65.0 points. The third frame saw the Lady Buffs hit .512 as a team with 21 kills and just two attack errors to grab the third set. 
 
COMING UP NEXT
The Lady Buffs will continue preseason play in Denver, Colo. after receiving an invitation to the 2022 Colorado Premier Challenge on Sept. 1-2.  WT will face Central Missouri and Regis in the opening rounds before bracket play on Saturday.
