CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes committed three costly errors on Sunday afternoon as they dropped the Lone Star Conference series finale to the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas, 4-2 at Nolan Ryan Field in Kingsville, Texas.

TAMUK took the lead in the bottom of the third inning as N. Wolff singled to center to score S. Becker followed by an I. Duarte RBI triple to right center for the 2-0 lead. The Javelinas added to their lead in the fifth as J. Chapman reached on a fielder's choice with Wolff scoring on a throwing error to extend the lead to 4-0.

The Buffs would respond in the eighth as
Ryan Johnson drove in
Izaiah Madrid with an RBI groundout followed by a
Will Fuenning doubled down the left field line to drive in
Kennedy Badgett and make it 4-2.

A.G. Ayala picked up the loss for the Buffs (3-3) during his first start of the season, allowing three earned runs on four hits with three walks and two strikeouts during hit 2.2 innings of work.

The Buffs close out the regular season next weekend as they host the St. Edward's Hilltoppers in a four-game LSC series beginning on Friday night at Wilder Park in Canyon.
