CANYON, Texas – No. 4 West Texas A&M recorded a pair of losses as No. 23 Texas A&M-Commerce swept past the Lady Buffs on Sunday afternoon. WT fell 3-2 in game one before the Lions grabbed the series finale, 5-2. The Lady Buffs move to 12-5 on the season and 1-3 in Lone Star Conference play while the Lions improve to 17-5 (3-1 LSC).
WT will return to action on Friday, March 11, when they head down I-27 for a doubleheader with Lubbock Christian before taking on No. 7 Angelo State on Sunday, March 13.

Madison Johnson snapped the no-hitter with a single in the infield but the Lady Buffs were unable to push a run across.
Two more runs came across the plate in favor of the Lions in the sixth but a sacrifice fly ball into right scored
Julie Guzman from third to end the shutout.
After a 1-2-3 inning, the Lady Buffs brought to score within one when Johnson hit a shot past the mound to land on first. With two outs,
Sydney Greeson hit a double into right center to score Johnson from first. With the tying run on second, the Lions' made a pitching change to bring Destiny Vasquez in off the bench. The senior shut down the threat as she got the batter swinging.
LeBlanc (5-2) was rewarded the victory allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits with five strikeouts and one walk while
Heidi Vortherms (7-2) was credited her second loss of the season with three runs (three earned) on eight hits with 10 strikeouts.

th career home run. With one out, the Flower Mound product crushed a 1-1 pitch deep and out into right field to bring the game within four.
WT held off Texas A&M-Commerce for three straight innings but string together hits to cut the lead until the bottom of the seventh.
Diana Murtha led off with a hit through the 4-3 hole before
Cinthia Garcia added to the hit count to bring
Megan Guericke to the plate.
Guericke grounded out to the first baseman to move runners into scoring position until
Sydney Greeson's RBI grounder scored Murtha to make it 5-2 but a strikeout for Emily Otto secured the sweep.
Otto (8-2) earned the victory on the mound allowing two runs (two earned) on four hits with four strikeouts.
Emilee Wilson (4-2) received the loss allowing five runs (three earned) on five hits with three walks and one strikeout through 3 2/3 innings while freshman
Emma Parrish finished the game with five hits and five strikeouts.
