CANYON, Texas – The #4 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M are headed home with a Lone Star Conference series victory over the St. Mary's Rattlers following an 11-3 victory in the series finale at Dickson Stadium in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday afternoon.

The Buffs wasted little time getting on the board as
Will Fuenning singled to center with one out to drive in
Eddy Savoie followed by an
Eric Ortiz RBI base hit up the middle to score
Kennedy Badgett, WT wasn't done yet as Fuenning scored from third on a wild pitch with two outs followed by an
Izaiah Madrid infield RBI single for the 4-0 lead.

WT added to their lead in the third as Madrid singled to right to drive in Ortiz followed later in the frame by an
Adam Becker RBI double to the left center field gap that scored Badgett to make it 6-0. Savoie continued his big weekend at the plate in the fifth with an RBI single up the middle that scored
Nollan Koon to make it 7-0.

The Rattlers cut into the lead in the bottom of the fifth as Jake Mares doubled to left center to drive in Jake Elizondo followed by a WT error that scored Mares to cut the lead to 7-2. WT responded in the top of the sixth as Ortiz lifted a two-run homerun the other way to left for the 9-2 advantage.

The Buffs added to their lead in the seventh as Badgett doubled down the left field line with two outs to score
Bryant Bailey to extend the lead to 10-2. The Rattlers cut into the lead in the home half of the seventh as Brandon Broughton doubled to the gap in right center to score Mares and make it 10-3. WT added some insurance runs in the top of the final frame as
Ryan Johnson lifted a sac fly to right field as Bailey tagged up to score for the 11-3 lead.

Isaac Keehn picked up the victory (2-0) for the Buffs, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits with one walk and a pair of strikeouts in his 5.0 innings of relief.Â

The Buffs return to Wilder Park next weekend for a top-25 Rivalry on the Range showdown with the #21 Lubbock Christian Chaps as the series opener is set for 7 p.m. on Friday night in Canyon.
