CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M recorded their ninth victory of the season as they defeated Western New Mexico in four sets (25-17, 25-16, 23-25, 25-20) on Saturday afternoon.  WT moves to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in Lone Star Conference play while the Mustangs drop to 2-8 (1-1 LSC).Â

WT came out swinging in the first set, hitting .464 on 16 kills with just three attack errors while the Lady Buffs defense limited WNMU to a .133 hit-percentage.Â

West Texas A&M hit .305 on the day with 54 kills on 118 attempts with 18 attack errors while compiling 56 digs and a season-high 12 digs.  Two Lady Buffs recorded double-digit kills with
Torrey Miller and
Samantha Jordan combining for 22 and 25 points while Jordan had a .450 attack-percentage.
Chandler Vogel registered 19 digs followed by Miller with 12 while
Lauren Marler recorded a team-high six blocks.Â

WNMU recorded 43 kills as a team lead by Bria Augustine with her own double-double with 13 kills on 37 attempts to hit .216 while collecting a team-high 10 digs.  Kayla Judd led at the net with 12 blocks. Â

The Lady Buffs will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 29 as they end their three-game homestand against the Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico.  First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at The Box.Â
