CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M stay undefeated against UT Permian Basin as they defeated the Falcons (25-22, 25-14, 25-18) on Friday night, recording their fifth sweep of the season.
WT moves to 8-2 with their second Lone Star Conference victory of the season and 19-0 against UTPB while the Falcons drop to 6-4 (1-1 LSC).
WT was led offensively by
Torrey Miller and newcomer
Abi Nash led the Lady Buffs, combining for 23 kills and 28 points with Miller recording a double-double at 12 digs.
Sadie Snay paced WT's offense with 29 assists, her second highest of the season.
Chandler Vogel led the back row with 19 digs while freshman
Marjani Stanfill registered a season-high seven blocks at the net.
The Lady Buffs finished the night 39 kills on 130 attempts to hit .300 as a team with 14 attack errors including 37 assists, 66 digs, and 11 total blocks.
WT's defense held UT Permian Basin to .050 hitting for the match led by senior Aquincia Strambler led with 10 kills on 35 attempts while Analise Lucio recorded a team-high 25 assists and 11 digs. UTPB had 30 kills on 139 attempts with 27 assists, 53 digs and four blocks.
WT continues their three-match homestand with a match against Western New Mexico (1-8, 0-1 LSC) on Satruday, Sept. 25 with first serve set for 2 p.m. at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box".
