The Patriots got on the board in the home half of the fourth inning as Edward Ortiz reached on a WT error followed by a wild pitch and a groundout before Cade Watson singled to left to plate Ortiz. Wastson would steal second but Todd Danzeisen would end the threat with a pair of groundouts to keep it at 3-1.

Givens would add to the WT lead in the top of the sixth as the senior lifted a two-run homerun to left field with two outs to score Engle and extend the lead to 5-1. UTT threatened in the home half of the frame as they loaded the bases with two outs before Danzeisen ended the inning with his fourth strikeout of the afternoon to keep it 5-1.

UT Tyler took advantage of a Buffalo error in the bottom of the eighth with two outs as Lukas Polanco singled to left to score Kyle McShaffry before Carter Brown entered the game and slammed the door with a big strikeout to strand a pair and send the teams to the ninth at 5-2.

Danzeisen picked up the win (3-0) on the mound for the Buffs, allowing just one unearned run on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts in his six innings of work. Brown picked up his second save of the season, striking out three of the final four batters of the game.
