ODESSA, Texas – The Buffaloes of West Texas A&M recorded their third straight victory with 3-1 decision over UT Permian Basin on Tuesday night. The Buffs improve to 4-1-0 on the season while the Falcons move to 3-2-1 overall (2-2-1 LSC).

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Buffs held a 11-2 advantage in shots in the first half with four consecutive shots from the 16th to 17th minute marks but were all denied by UTPB keeper Alfonso Aragon.
WT opened scoring in the 28th minute as Giancarlo Saldana continued his strong start to the season with his fourth goal in three straight games. The Falcons best look came from Joel Hope's shot in the 30th minute but was denied by Alexander Vencel to preserve the shutout. Saldana made his way through the defense as the junior's shot found the back of the net to make it 2-0 at the half.
Stefan Andjelic kept the Buffs momentum from the first half as the senior completed a pass from Payne McKiver to make the score 3-0 in favor of the Buffs. Rodrigo Rogatto was awarded the penalty kick to put the Falcons on the board ending to Buffs shutout but WT's defense did not allow another shot to earn their third consecutive victory.
WT outshot the Falcons 19-4 with 10 landing on frame. Three Buffs recorded three shots against the Falcons led by Saldana with all on target.
Vencel (4-1) received the victory between the post as the senior allowed the lone goal with one save in 90 minutes of play.
UP NEXT
WT will take a short break from conference play as they prepare for the final three matches of the abbreviated season. The Buffs will host Lubbock Christian on March 27 for an afternoon match before facing Oklahoma Christian on March 30 for Senior Day.
