SAN ANGELO, Texas – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs swept past Oklahoma Christian (25-17, 25-16, 25-14) on Thursday night to advance to the Lone Star Conference Championship semifinals.  WT will now face the winner of the Angelo State and UT Permian Basin quarterfinal match.Â

The Lady Buffs move to 21-4 overall and 2-0 in the all-time series against the Eagles while OC concludes the 2021 season 12-18.Â

Oklahoma Christian kept their momentum from Tuesday night's upset over Texas A&M-Commerce as the Eagles opened up the match with a 3-0 run.  WT responded with three consecutive kills including two from First Team All-Conference selection
Torrey Miller to end the run to take a 7-5 lead.  The Lady Buffs found their rhythm after using a 9-3 run to capture the first set.  WT continued their stride in the final two sets with freshman
Blair Moreland dishing out a service ace to capture match point.Â

Two Lady Buffs registered double-digit kills led by
Torrey Miller with 14 as the Brownwood native posted 14 on 42 swings with eight errors to hit .143 along with five digs. Â
Kayla Elliott also had double figures with 10 kills on 18 attempts to hit .500.  Moreland and
Sadie Snay paced the offense combining for 34 assists while Snay grabbed her sixth double-double of the season with 16 assists and 10 digs. Â
Chandler Vogel led the back row as the four-time Libero of the Year tagged on 23 digs to go along with four assists.Â

The Eagles were held to a .028 attack percentage with 19 kills on 109 attempts with 16 attack errors. OC was led by Anna Strother with a team-high five kills on 20 swings with just one attack errors to go along with a dig.Â

The semifinal match is set for tomorrow, Nov. 19, at the Junell Center in San Angelo, Texas with first set scheduled for 7:30 p.m.Â
