WT Volleyball Finishes Unbeaten at The Box, Sweeps Past DBU

CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs ended the regular season in style on Saturday afternoon as they swept past the DBU Patriots (25-17, 25-14, 25-6) in Lone Star Conference action to finish unbeaten at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" for the second straight season.
 
The Lady Buffs took control early and never looked back as they finished with 43 kills on 111 swings with eight attack errors to hit .315 on the afternoon with 38 assists, three aces, 11 blocks and 63 digs. WT limited the Patriots to a .009 attack percentage with 23 kills on 117 swings to go along with 22 attack errors, 22 assists, 47 digs, no aces and five blocks.
 
Abi Nash led the way for the Lady Buffs as the junior from Tucson tallied a match-high 14 kills on 28 swings with just four attack errors to hit .357 in the win. Sadie Snay dished out 20 assists to go along with seven digs in her final match in Canyon while Chandler Vogel led the way in the back row with 14 digs to run her career total to 2,531.
 
The afternoon was extra special for the Hereford product as long-time boyfriend and WT Baseball's all-time saves leader Dominic Yearego proposed to the senior following the win. 
 
The Lady Buffs have claimed the fourth seed in the 2021 LSC Volleyball Championships along with a bye in the opening round, they will await the winner of fifth-seed Texas A&M-Commerce and 12th seeded Oklahoma Christian on Thursday night at 5 p.m. at the Junell Center in San Angelo during the LSC Quarterfinals.
