Vogel Makes History As #25 Lady Buffs Roll Past the Aggies in Lawton

LAWTON, Okla. – West Texas A&M's senior libero Chandler Vogel became the all-time career digs leader as the No. 25 Lady Buffs swept Cameron on Saturday afternoon (25-10, 25-19, 25-16).  The victory lifts the Lady Buffs to 16-2 (10-1 LSC) while Cameron fell to 1-23 (0-12 LSC) on the season.
 
Vogel moved past former Lady Buff standout Lauren Beville who played from 2009-2012 and registered 2,423 digs.  The Hereford product passed the mark in the third set with her 15th dig of the match before she finished the afternoon with a match-high 24, moving her career total to 2,433. 
 
Saturday's victory moved the Lady Buffs to second in the Lone Star Conference rankings after Angelo State fell to Texas A&M-Commerce in five sets.  
 
The Lady Buffs hit .254 as a team with 39 kills on 118 swings with just nine errors while limiting the Aggies to a .024 hitting percentage.  WT registered six service aces with 39 assists, seven blocks and 71 total digs.
 
Junior Porsha Porath collected a season-high five blocks 10 kills on 22 attempts to lead WT, hitting .409 with just one error while Torrey Miller followed with nine.  Blair Moreland paced the Lady Buffs offense with 18 assists while Sadie Snay and Marjani Stanfill each had two aces. 
 
Arianna Navarrete led the Aggies with nine kills while Desiree Marmolejo dished out 11 assists.  In the back row, Presley Shearin picked up 16 digs as teammate Jessica Lipkit had three blocks. 
 
The Lady Buffs return home next weekend as they prepare for the final matches of the regular season as they host Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International on October 29-30.
