CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs recorded their eighth-consecutive match victory on Saturday afternoon after defeating UAFS in straight sets (25-19, 25-21, 25-17).
WT, now 14-2 overall, ranks third in the Lone Star Conference at 8-1 while UAFS moves to 4-6 in conference play (9-10 overall). With today's victory, WT has recorded nine victories at home this season to bring the all-time record to 505-82 (.860) at The Box.
For just the fourth time this season, the Lady Buffs hit above .300 with 43 kills on 100 attempts and just 13 errors. UAFS totaled 34 kills with 23 errors on 106 swings to hit .104.
Torrey Miller collected a match-high 12 kills on 32 swings followed by
Kayla Elliott and
Ashlyn Vinyard each with eight while freshman
Blair Moreland paced the offense with 20 assists.
Marjani Stanfill led at the net with a season-high eight blocks.
Chandler Vogel compiled 13 digs to bring her career total to 2,396 and is just 27 digs away from tying Lauren Beville's (2009-12) all-time record.
Hannah Holland led the Lady Lions with eight kills joined by Courtney Crownover and Reagan Macha at seven each while Chloe Anderson registered a match-high 29 assists. Jazzlyn Wells had nine digs while Chrya Thompson had four blocks.
