CANYON, Texas – In their first meeting on the court, the Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M swept past the Oklahoma Christian Eagles on Friday night for the Lady Buffs to remain undefeated at The Box this season (25-14, 27-25, 25-21). With their seven-game winning streak, the Lady Buffs improved to 13-2 overall and 7-1 in Lone Star Conference play while the Eagles move to 6-12 overall (2-7 LSC). Â

Tonight's match saw just four lead changes including the Eagles 9-0 run in the second set to bring the score to 24-all.  OC took an early 13-8 lead in the final set before the Lady Buffs strung together their own successful run to take back the match to secure a three-set victory.Â

WT hit .218 on the night with 43 kills on 110 attempts with 19 errors alongside four service aces and seven blocks.  The Lady Buffs defense limited OC to just 29 kills on 113 swings for a .071 attack-percentage. Â

Outside hitter
Torrey Miller led the night with 13 kills followed by
Katrina Johnson with eight while
Sadie Snay and
Blair Moreland each collected 14 assists.  On defense,
Ashlyn Vinyard compiled a team-high three blocks joined by Miller and
Emma Patterson led with 14 digs followed by
Chandler Vogel with 13.Â

Hannah Rouse led the Eagles with seven kills while Kayla Chavez had a match-high 17 assists. Kelsie Schiefelbein had five blocks in Friday's match while Brylie Berryman collected 15 digs.Â

The Lady Buffs will be back on Saturday afternoon to face UAFS (9-9, 4-5 LSC) with first serve set for 2 p.m. at The Box in Canyon.Â
