#25 Lady Buffs Lock Down Midwestern State, Win Their Fourth Straight

CANYON, Texas – The #25 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M picked up their fourth straight victory on Thursday night as WT's defense dominated the Midwestern State Mustangs, 66-34 in front of 1,000 fans at the First United Bank Center during Lone Star Conference crossover action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Buffs were led by Megan Gamble who went 3-of-3 from the field including 2-of-2 from deep and 6-of-7 from the free throw line to lead all players with 14 points to go along with four assists, two steals and three blocks. Braylyn Dollar registered her fifth double-double of the season as the sophomore finished the night with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
- Midwestern State was led offensively by Shawnisay Millar who went 1-of-6 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe for a team-high seven points to go along with four rebounds, Kityana Diaz and Elizabeth Cathcart chipped in six points each while Hannah Reynolds led the way defensively with eight boards and one block.
 
FIRST HALF
- The Lady Buffs went 7-of-24 (29.2%) from the floor in the first half including 3-o-8 (37.5%) from behind the arc and 12-of-15 (80%) from the charity stripe with 21 rebounds (four offensive, 17 defensive), four assists, nine turnovers, six steals and four blocks.
- MSU finished the first half going 7-of-32 (21.9%) from the field including 0-of-6 from deep and 3-of-7 (42.9%) from the free throw line with 23 rebounds (nine offensive, 14 defensive), five assists, eight turnovers, two steals and two blocks.
 
SECOND HALF
- WT went 19-of-46 (41.3%) from the floor including 5-of-13 (38.5%) from deep and 23-of-34 (67.6%) from the free throw line to go along with 49 total rebounds (eight offensive, 41 defensive), 11 assists, 20 turnovers, eight steals and eight blocks in the win.
- The Mustangs ended the game going 13-of-71 (18.3%) from the floor including 1-of-20 (5%) from behind the arc and 7-of-11 (63.6%) from the free throw line with 43 rebounds (18 offensive, 25 defensive), 10 assists, 13 turnovers, five steals and four blocks on the night.
