CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Athletics announced a revised ticket plan to meet stringent requirements involving game operations during the current COVID-19 pandemic. WT opens the 2020-21 season on Friday, Dec. 11, when they host St. Edward's for four games over two days at the First United Bank Center.
For the month of December, capacity at the First United Bank Center will be limited to 10% of the 4,800-seat capacity. This will be continually reviewed throughout the season. With a low-capacity limit, single-game tickets will not be available to the general public to start the season. Instead, a limited number of season passes will be made available to season ticket holders from the 2019-20 season.
Season pass holders will be able to attend all regular-season games held in the First United Bank Center. Full-time enrolled students will also be able to attend games in person, provided tickets to each game are claimed through the BuffPortal on the week of each game.
In an effort to allow maximum flexibility for social distancing, all seating will be general admission. To maintain distance between players and spectators, the seats behind the team benches and court side will be closed. Further, masks will be required of all spectators.
While in-person attendance will be limited in the First United Bank Center and all other LSC venues this season, the LSC Digital Network will carry the full slate of conference games in a pay-per-view format. A single-day access pass is $10 and provides viewers access to all LSC basketball games played on a single date.
"As we move through the season, I am hopeful that we will be able to allow more fans inside the First United Bank Center and that we can offer single-game tickets. This will depend solely on the where we are as a community and region related to the pandemic," Director of Athletics
Michael McBroom said. "The LSC Digital Network is a great way to fill the gap and will enable fans who cannot attend the games to be able to watch the full slate of LSC action this season."
Those eligible to purchase a 2020-21 season pass will be receiving additional information following the Thanksgiving break. The price per pass is $100 and available online only. Passes will be delivered in a digital format prior to the first home games.
