CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M opened the night on an 8-0 run as they dominated the opening frame before falling to the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions in four sets during Lone Star Conference action in front of over 500 fans at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box".
 
Torrey Miller ended the night with a match-high 16 kills on 40 swings with six attack errors to hit .250 to go along with eight digs while Selena Batiste began Senior Weekend in style with 12 kills and eight digs, Gabby Emery paced the WT offense with 34 assists to go along with 10 digs for a double-double while Chandler Vogel was all over the court as the junior finished with 19 digs. WT registered 42 kills on 136 attempts with 25 attack errors to hit .125 as a team with 42 assists, five aces, 65 digs and 5.5 total blocks.
 
The Lions were led by Sydney Anderson who finished the night with 14 kills on 36 swings with four attack errors to hit .278 followed by Shelley Chapron with 12 kills, Celeste Vela dished out a team-high 28 assists to go along with six digs while Riley Davidson and Savannah Rutledge tallied 14 digs each in the win. TAMUC finished the night with 50 kills on 149 swings with 27 attack errors to hit .154 in the match with 49 assists, five aces, 56 digs and 12 blocks.
 
The Lady Buffs conclude their regular-season home schedule on Saturday afternoon as they welcome the Patriots of UT Tyler with first serve set for 2 p.m. on Senior Day at The Box.
