LVER CITY, New Mexico – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M dropped the opening frame before battling back for a Lone Star Conference victory over the Western New Mexico Mustangs on Thursday night during action at Drag's Court in Silver City, New Mexico.
 
Selena Batiste led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs with 18 kills on 46 swings with five errors to hit .283 on the night followed by Sadie Snay with six kills, Snay paced the WT offense with 22 assists followed by Gabby Emery with 11 while Chandler Vogel led the way defensively with 27 digs in the win. WT registered 50 kills on 162 attempts with 28 attack errors to hit .136 as a team with 41 assists, four aces, 71 digs and nine total blocks.
 
The Mustangs were led by Erin Moss with 12 kills on 41 attempts with five attack errors to hit .171 on the night to go along with 10 digs for the double-double, Madelynn Culp dished out a team-high 24 assists followed by Sarah Campoli with 22 while Gabi Lau had 26 digs in the loss. WNMU tallied 50 kills on 157 swings with 25 attack errors to hit .159 with 48 assists, three service aces, 77 digs and nine blocks.
 
The Lady Buffs finish up the regular season on Saturday afternoon as they head to Odessa, Texas to battle the UT Permian Basin Falcons with first serve set for 12 p.m. at the Falcon Dome.
