SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M fell in straight sets to the #21 Belles of Angelo State on Saturday afternoon (21-25, 21-25, 19-25) in Lone Star Conference action at the Junell Center during Homecoming Weekend in San Angelo, Texas.

Torrey Miller registered 14 kills on 29 swings with four attack errors to hit .379 on the afternoon followed by
Lindsey Smith with six kills,
Gabby Emery dished out a team-high 15 assists while
Chandler Vogel led the way in the bak row with 17 digs in the loss. The Lady Buffs hit .189 as a team with 29 kills on 106 swings with nine attack errors to go along with 22 assists, six service aces, 43 digs and four blocks on the afternoon.

Kailyn Gilbreath led the way for the Belles with 12 kills on 21 swings with no attack errors to hit an impressive .571 on the afternoon followed by Sundara Chinn with 11 kills and five digs, Lindsey Ledyard dished out a match-high 17 assists while Morgan Preston led the way defensively with 10 digs. The powerful ASU offense registered 51 kills on 112 swings with just nine attack errors to hit .375 on the afternoon with 43 assists, four aces, 52 digs and two blocks in the win.

The Lady Buffs continue their four-match road swing on Tuesday night as they make the short trip to Portales, New Mexico to take on the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds in Lone Star Conference divisional action with first serve set for 7 p.m. CT at Greyhound Arena.
