Jacob, Diaz Score Twice as Lady Buffs Roll Past Southern Nazarene, 6-1

BETHANY, Okla. – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M finished the non-conference portion of their schedule strong scoring six goals including four in the final 10 minutes in their 6-1 victory over Southern Nazarene on Thursday night at Wes Harmon Field in Bethany, Okla. The Lady Buffs are now 5-1-0 on the season while the Crimson Storm fall to 1-4-0.

The Lady Buffs only lead 1-0 at halftime after putting nine shots on-goal with the lone goal coming from the penalty spot in the 14th minute. Jessica Diaz converted WT's first penalty kick of the season to give WT a 1-0 lead.
 
The visitors continued to pepper the Crimson Storm goal until Khaline Jacob double their lead in the 62nd minute on an assist from Hannah Kelley-Lusk. Jacob would score her second of the game 20 minutes later in the 82nd minute on a header on a cross from Shanelle Arjoon. The junior has now scored at least one goal in four of her five appearances this season.
 
The Crimson Storm would get one back just a minute later when Kelsi Bussert converted from the penalty spot to make it 3-1. That would be the closest SNU would get as the Lady Buffs would score three goals over the final five minutes to secure their fifth straight win. Noir Hawash opened her scoring account in the 86th followed by Arjoon's first of the season in the 87th. Diaz put the finishing touches on her first multi-goal game scoring with just 16 seconds left in the game.
 
Jacob finished with a season-high nine shots, five of those on-target, with Kelley-Lusk adding six of her own. Courtney Dippel made one save as she improved to 5-1-0 on the season.
