#25 WT Survives a Late Rally to Leave Lawton with a 70-61 Lone Star Conference Win

LAWTON, Oklahoma – The #25 Lady Buffs led by as many as 17 points early in the fourth quarter before the Cameron Aggies caught fire from behind the arc as they cut the lead to as little as four before WT made big defensive stops down the stretch to leave Lawton, Oklahoma with a 70-61 Lone Star Conference victory on Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- West Texas A&M was led offensively by Lexy Hightower with 19 points followed by Tiana Parker with 16 to go along with eight rebounds and a career high six blocks in the win, seven other Lady Buffs contributed points led by Cece Wooten with eight points and three blocks.
- Jamie Bonnarens led the Aggies with a game high 20 points as she went 9-of-19 from the floor including 1-of-4 from behind the arc followed by Ava Battese with 12 points in the loss, Lejha Smith led the way defensively with 13 rebounds to lead all players while Parfitt McNair dished out six assists on the night.
 
FIRST HALF:
- The Lady Buffs went 14-of-26 (53.8%) from the floor in the opening half including 1-of-3 (33.3%) from deep and 4-of-8 (50%) from the charity stripe with 15 rebounds (four offensive, 11 defensive), four assists, eight turnovers, three blocks and four steals.
- Cameron finished the opening half going 13-of-24 (54.2%) from the field including 4-of-7 (57.1%) from behind the arc and 2-of-5 (40%) from the free throw line with 12 rebounds (two offensive, 10 defensive), eight assists, nine turnovers, one block and two steals.

SECOND HALF:
- WT finished the game going 26-of-51 (51%) from the floor in the game including 2-of-9 (22.2%) from behind the arc and 16-of-27 (59.3%) from the free throw line to go along with 33 rebounds (eight offensive, 25 defensive), 13 assists, 14 turnovers, 12 blocks and nine steals on the night. WT's 12 blocks ties the third most in a single-game in program history (vs. Cameron - February 15, 1988).
- The Aggies finished the night going 23-of-57 (40.4%) from the floor including 8-of-18 (44.4%) from deep and 7-of-14 (50%) from the free throw line with 33 rebounds (12 offensive, 21 defensive), 14 assists, 18 turnovers, four blocks and three steals.
