#14 Buffs Shutout Lubbock Christian in the Heartland Conference Semifinals

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The #14 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M exacted a little revenge while keeping their season alive on Friday afternoon as they picked up a 2-0 victory over the Lubbock Christian Chaps in the Heartland Conference Semifinals at Stang Park in Wichita Falls, Texas.

The two teams combined for eight shots in the opening half with seven of those coming from the Buffs as two landed on goal. WT's Alexander Vencel registered one save in the half while LCU's Braxton Thorne had a pair.
 
The Buffs got on the board in the 62nd minute as Ivan Ulloa registered his fifth goal of the season as the senior connected from eight yards out on a pass from Lucca Lima to make it 1-0. WT struck again in the 66th minute as Lima sent a ball into the box to find fellow All-Heartland First Teamer Julio Vargas for his 14th goal of the season on a header to the upper right corner at 2-0.
 
Vencel picked up the win in the net for the Buffs, registering two saves on five shots faced to move to 9-1-1 on the season for his sixth shutout.
