AZUSA, California – The #13 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M ended one of the best seasons in program history on Saturday night as they fell to the West Region Champion Cal Poly Pomona Broncos in the NCAA Division II National Quarterfinals at Cougar Soccer Field in Azusa, California.

The Broncos took a lead in the 43
rd minute as Eduardo Faria found Cyro Olivera from 20 yards out to give the Broncos a 1-0 lead headed into halftime. CPP added to their lead just after half as Faria registered his fourth score of the season on a pass from Sergio Martinez for a one-on-one goal to extend the CPP lead to 2-0.

Sophomore All-American candidate
Alexander Vencel registered five saves in goal for the Buffs. WT was shutout for just the third time this season. The Buffs finished the campaign with the most wins in program history (17) as they claimed a third Regional Championship in school history on Thursday night in Azusa.
