#2 Lady Buffs Start Fast To Roll Past Cameron and Stay Unbeaten, 70-49

CANYON, Texas – The #2 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M started out the game on a 14-4 run and never looked back as they remained unbeaten with a 70-49 Lone Star Conference victory over the visiting Cameron Aggies in front of almost 1,000 fans at the First United Bank Center in Canyon on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- West Texas A&M was led offensively by Lexy Hightower who went 5-of-10 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the free throw line with a game high 18 points followed by Deleyah Harris with 11 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, Tiana Parker swatted away four blocks in the win.
- Jamie Bonnarens went 6-of-20 from the floor and 4-of-6 from deep to lead the Aggies with 16 points followed by Parfitt McNair with nine while Amaka Nwakamma chipped in eight points and eight rebounds in the loss.
 
FIRST HALF:
- The Lady Buffs went 14-of-33 (42.4%) from the floor in the first half including 1-of-10 (10%) from deep and 10-of-12 (83.3%) from the free throw line with 25 rebounds (10 offensive, 15 defensive), nine assists, six turnovers, two blocks and three steals.
- Cameron went 7-of-24 (29.2%) from the field including 4-of-10 (40%) from behind the arc and 2-of-8 (25%) from the charity stripe with 17 rebounds (six offensive, 11 defensive), six assists, 12 turnovers, one block and two steals in the first half.
 
SECOND HALF:
- WT finished the game going 22-of-53 (41.5%) from the floor including 2-of-12 (16.7%) from deep and 24-of-38 (63.2%) from the free throw line with 53 rebounds (16 offensive, 37 defensive), 17 assists, 20 turnovers, five blocks and eight steals on the afternoon.
- Cameron went 16-of-68 (23.5%) from the field including 11-of-35 (31.4%) from behind the arc and 6-of-15 (40%) from the free throw line with 42 rebounds (19 offensive, 23 defensive), 13 assists, 19 turnovers, two blocks and six steals.
