CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M sophomore guard Lexy Hightower dropped 16 points with 15 of those coming behind the three-point line as the #9 Lady Buffs topped the visiting Drovers of the University of Science & Arts (Okla.) in front of over 600 fans at the First United Bank Center in Canyon during WT's home opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- West Texas A&M was led offensively by Lexy Hightower with 16 points as the Amarillo product went 5-of-12 from the floor including 5-of-11 from behind the arc to go along with two rebounds, three assists and two steals. Deleyah Harris chipped in 10 points while Madison Parker led all players with 11 rebounds.
- Darian Hill led the way for the Drovers with seven points as she went 3-of-5 from the field including 1-of-2 from deep. Jocelyn Jeffery led the way defensively with five rebounds while Rebecca Worthy dished out three assists.
FIRST HALF:
- The Lady Buffs went 10-of-23 (43.5%) from the field including 1-of-5 (20%) from deep and 3-of-4 (75%) from the free throw line with 16 rebounds (five offensive, 11 defensive), eight assists, 10 turnovers, four blocks and one steal.
- USAO finished the first half going 8-of-23 (34.8%) from the floor including 2-of-7 (28.6%) from behind the arc and 3-of-6 (50%) from the charity stripe with 13 rebounds (five offensive, eight defensive), five assists, 10 turnovers, three blocks and two steals.
SECOND HALF:
- WT finished the game going 21-of-44 (47.7%) from the floor including 5-of-16 (31.3%) from deep and 13-of-20 (65%) from the free throw line with 36 rebounds (eight offensive, 28 defensive), 15 assists, 19 turnovers, four blocks and three assists.
