LAKELAND, Fla. – Down 60-57 with 1.7 seconds left, West Texas A&M senior Maddison Wild buried a triple from the top of the key with .5 seconds left tying the game at 60 forcing overtime as the No. 25-ranked Lady Buffs outscored No. 16 Florida Southern 13-3 in the overtime period for a 73-63 win Friday afternoon.
Heading down the final stretch, WT played mostly from behind, but did take its first lead since midway through the second quarter on a pair of free throws from Wild with 1:19 left in the fourth giving WT a 57-56 lead. A turnover by the Lady Buffs gave FSC a shot at the lead and Anja Fuchs-Robetin capitalized on a foul with two charity tosses with nine seconds left for a 58-57 Moccasin lead. Another turnover by WT and foul gave Fuchs-Robetin two more tosses with just over a second left.
Following a timeout by the Lady Buffs, senior Sasha Watson inbounded the ball to Wild who turned and hit the game-tying triple over her defender tying the game at 60 and forcing overtime. Lady Buff fans will remember last year when Watson inbounded the ball to former Lady Buff Zantaya Davis who hit a jumper to win at Texas A&M-Commerce in a very similar situation.
In the overtime period, WT came out with a renewed vigor as Wild hit a jumper for a 62-60 lead with 4:42 left starting a 13-0 run to put the game away. Guila Simoni hit at triple late to make the final margin 73-63 for FSC's only points of the overtime period.

Blassage had the answer with a jumper in the final minute for a 46-42 lead through three frames.
In a very tightly contested fourth quarter with seven ties, Wild hit the two free throws with 1:19 left to give WT its first lead of the second half.
