Ryan March as the Buffs pulled out a 2-1, come-from-behind victory at Tarleton State Sunday afternoon in 10 innings. With the win, WT improved to 31-16 on the year and 20-12 in Lone Star Conference play pulling into a tie for first in the league standings with Texas A&M-Kingsville with three games to play. Tarleton State fell to 20-20 overall and 13-16 in league play.
With the win, WT and the Javelinas are tied each with a 20-12 record in conference play. Angelo State is 19-13 after sweeping TAMUK in a three game series this weekend. The Buffs host Cameron in a three game series next Friday and Saturday, while TAMUK hosts Tarleton State and Angelo State hosts Eastern New Mexico.
WT improved to 13-9 in one run games this season and 4-4 in extra-inning contests this season. The game Sunday had a couple of weather delays as storms moved through the area throughout the game.

Brooks Trujillo. A leadoff single from Landon Merka and a sacrifice bunt put Merka in scoring position. Elijah Christensen singled home Merka for a 1-0 lead.
The Texans kept the Buffs off the board until the ninth inning as Hansen began the frame with a solo shot to left center on a 3-2 count to tie the game. WT left runners at second and third in the inning. The Texans went down in order in the ninth sending the game to extra innings.
In the 10
th, March belted his home run to right center for a 2-1 lead. Things got interesting in the bottom of the inning as Dalton Weeks singled to left with one out. Following a strikeout, Peter McMahon hit an infield single and Weeks advanced to third on a wild pitch. The Texans' top hitter, Jonathan Schmitz, fanned to end the game.
Senior
Paul Lujan picked up the win and improved to 4-1 on the year in 2.2 innings. He allowed two hits and had four strikeouts. Trujillo went the first four innings, allowing two hits and striking out three before the delay. Hunter Houston (0-2) took the loss in 2.1 innings of relief, allowing four hits, two earned runs and he fanned four. There were no walks issued by either team in the game.
Offensively, the Buffs had eight hits as Hansen and March each were 2 for 5 with a RBI and a run scored. McMahon was 3 for 4 for the Texans as they had nine hits and committed one error. WT won the season series 6-1 versus Tarleton State.
The Buffs return home to play Cameron in the regular season finale Friday and Saturday at Wilder Park. Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., followed by a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. as it will be Senior Day.
