Box Score Season Statistics CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M men's basketball team strolled to a 105-58 win over visiting Hillsdale Baptist on Saturday evening. The win would be the sixth in a row for the Buffs and ninth victory in 10 tries. Junior
Jeff Bonner had a big night for WT with a double-double, putting up a season/career high 17 points while grabbing 11 boards. Freshman
David Chavlovich led all scorers with 20 points as six Buffs scored in double-figures. WT improves to 9-4 with the win while the Saints fall to 5-10 on the season.
Bonner finished off the night going 6-for-9 from the field and sank all five of his free-throw attempts. Chavlovich once again led the Buffs in the long range game with five makes from beyond the arc. He would go 7-for-11 from the field while adding four assists and three rebounds. Senior

Carl White also finished with 14 points each in the contest.
The Buffs came out the gate hot tonight converting on four of its first five 3-point attempts. White sank the first shot from deep for the game's first points before HBC grabbed a couple buckets to earn their first and only lead of the half at 5-3. WT then stormed to a 14-1 run over the next 2:24, highlighted by two additional triples by Chavlovich.
HBC grabbed six quick points to pull back within seven of WT heading into the first media timeout at 15:36. However, freshman Garret Brockman drilled a 3-pointer before a White layup in traffic pushed the home team back up 24-16.
The Buffs would be able to extend that lead back to double-digits with a Gatewood 3-pointer and mid-range jumper by White, making the score 32-20 at 8:48. Senior
Tez Dumars would then make it a 14-point advantage with a steal and fast-break layup heading into the under-eight media timeout.
After that stoppage, WT rolled to a 13-3 run to lead it by 19, going up 42-23. Chavlovich then went to work again with two more big buckets from deep to begin at 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. Chavlovich and Bonner, making his fifth start this season, led all scorers with 15 points each at the break.
WT closed out the half on a 25-3 run to carry a 67-33 lead into halftime. That would mark the highest point total in a half for the Buffs this season while their .630 shooting from the field would tie a season high for a first half. WT went 22-for-35 from the floor along with 10-for-15 from the 3-point line (.667). Those 10 buckets from deep would also be a season-high for the first 20 minutes of play.
Bonner and Chavlovich would go a combined 10-for-12 from the floor in the first half while Chavlovich alone converted on 4-of-5 attempts from long range. Also scoring in double-figures in the half was White with 10 points.
The Saints were held to 12-for-29 from the field (.414) and went just 5-for-12 (.417) from the charity stripe in the opening frame.
After their big first-half production, the Buffs were held scoreless for the first 2:44 of the second half. White would end that drought with a fast-break dunk. Gatewood would then drain a triple to bring WT back up 34, making the score 72-38 at 15:34. WT reached back to a 35-point lead just before the second media timeout of the half as it went up 77-42 with another layup by Bonner who added to his career-night.
Freshman
Eric Mosley would make it his best outing of the season with a few big buckets in the second half. Heading to just within 10 minutes remaining, he grabbed a layup and triple from the right corner for his 10
th point of the contest. Mosley would get another offensive putback just two minutes later to push WT ahead by 41 with 7:08 remaining. The Buffs took then took the 89-50 lead into the under-eight media timeout.
WT continued to roll down the stretch. Freshman
Tommy Gove would break the 100-point total for the Buffs with a 3-pointer with under three minutes to go. That would give them the 101-54 advantage heading into the final media timeout. Tonight's game marked the first time since the 2000-'01 season in which WT eclipsed 100 points in regulation. That game was a 104-62 victory over National Christian. The Buffs have surpassed that total twice in overtime games since that season.
The Buffs finished the night going 35-for-66 (.530) from the floor compared to the Saints' 23-for-57 (.404). WT held the strong edge in rebounds, 45-32, and forced 18 HBC turnovers. Off of those turnovers, the Buffs totaled 32 points.
WT will return to action on Wednesday night, Jan. 7, as it opens up Lone Star Conference play with a road trip to Wichita Falls, Texas. The Buffs will battle the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. in D.L.
