Kimberly Dudley was elevated to West Texas A&M's Associate Athletic Director & Chief of Staff in November of 2024.
Dudley is one of the longest tenured athletic department staff members. She has 20 years of collegiate coaching experience as well as eight years in athletic administration. While coaching, Dudley led her athletes to four NCAA Division II national appearances, 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2014. During this stretch, the team won Lone Star Conference Championships in 2012 and 2013.
In addition to the leadership development, Dudley spent 2024 investing her time into the Buffalo Club and more external relations areas. She executed the Buffalo Club Appeal campaign and ran the hospitality area for both basketball and football.
In 2017, Coach Dudley created a leadership series primarily for incoming student-athletes to assist in their acclimation to WT and college athletics. M.O.T.I.O.N. Academy began with a created curriculum, grown into guest speakers, and now podcast style conversations. M.O.T.I.O.N. (Mental Strength, Opportunity, Transform, Integrity, Ownership, and Navigate) has hosted numerous outstanding speakers who all have ties to WT.
Coach Dudley is also the SAAC (student-athlete advisory committee) advisor. The group focuses on community engagement, community service, awareness, and leadership. SAAC is the voice for the student-athlete population. SAAC also reviews and votes on NCAA legislation. “We want to impact the lives around us through whatever opportunities are available to us. Through service and engagement, we grow in leadership.”
Dudley is the Director of Athletic Events for the 2A UIL Regional contests. WT began hosting golf, tennis, as well as track & field in the spring of 2021. These events not only provide outstanding competition for the high school students, but also the opportunity for them to experience the community, along with the campus and facilities of West Texas A&M University.
While coaching, Dudley lead her athletes to four NCAA Division II national appearances, 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2014. During this stretch, the team won back-to-back LSC Conference championships in 2012 and 2013 while the Lady Buffs tied in the point total at the LSC Championship in 2014 and finished second under tie-breaker rules after having the top three finishers for the second time in program history.
During the 2014 season, senior Emma Love earned her second LSC Academic Runner of the Year award and earned LSC Runner of the Year honors after winning the individual title. Dudley was named LSC Coach of the Year for the third time in her career. Love and Michaela Johnson qualified for the NCAA DII Championships where they recorded Top 50 finishes.
After repeating as LSC Champions in 2013, the Lady Buffs finished 14th at the NCAA Division II National Championship. All six runners who competed earned All-Conference honors at the LSC meet while two athletes made the Academic All-Conference team, including Emma Love, the LSC Academic Runner of the Year who also went on to win the prestigious NCAA Elite 89 Award. Love was also named Capital One First-Team Academic All-America while senior Amber Moore made the Second Team. Four Lady Buffs were honored on the Capital One Academic All-District Team while three earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors.
During the 2012 season, the Lady Buffs won the Lone Star Conference Championship for the first time in program history. The team had five athletes earn All-Conference accolades where Brenda Sindet, Mireia Guarner, and Amber Moore finished 1-2-3 as the trio later earned All-Region status at the south central regional championships. At the NCAA Championships, the Lady Buffs finished 11th, a program-best, where Sindet and Guarner earned All-American honors by finishing in the top 40 individually. The team also excelled in the classroom, registering a team GPA of 3.61.
Dudley graduated from WTAMU with her Bachelor’s Degree in 1994 and followed up with her Master’s in Exercise and Sports Science in 1996. After graduation, Dudley took over the head coaching position for the team and has guided numerous runners to All-Conference honors and All-Region honors. She is a three-time recipient of the Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year Award (2005, 2012, 2014).
Kimberly is married to Kyle Dudley and they have two daughters.
