JJ Luna joined the West Texas A&M Baseball coaching staff in the summer of 2026 as the program's Data & Analytics Coordinator.
The role will see Luna manage data systems, capture on-field metrics and provide performance reports to the coaching staff and student-athletes. He will oversee datasets from YakkerTech along with Synergy video feeds from games and practices to build reports and evaluation models to help with scouting, player development and in-game strategy.
Luna gained valuable experience following the end of his collegiate career working on the analytics staff at Texas A&M University. The Aggies went 41-16 during the 2026 campaign including 18-11 during SEC play, hosting a Regional Tournament at Blue Bell Park in College Station.Â
The Dallas native is no stranger to the Texas Panhandle as he was part of the WT Baseball program from 2022-25. Luna registered a standout prep career at Jesuit Prepratory in Dallas.Â
