Heidi Vortherms makes the move from diamond to dugout as the former Lady Buff joins the WT coaching staff as a Graduate Assistant for the 2026 campaign.

Vortherms made 111 career appearances with 85 starts in the circle for the Lady Buffs during her storied career, going 57-16 with a 1.89 ERA as she tossed 23 complete games in 444.0 innings. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota product registered seven shutouts to go along with three saves as she struck out 479 opposing batters.

The 2025 campaign saw Vortherms post a 20-3 record with five complete games, two shutouts, 135 strikeouts, and a 2.05 ERA over 133.1 innings. She was a First Team All-Lone Star Conference selection as well as the LSC Academic Player of the Year and a CSC Academic All-American. Vortherms was one of 42 recipients of a $10,000 postgraduate scholarship awarded by the NCAA for the 2024-25 spring semester.
