Tammy Butler

Tammy Butler joined the West Texas A&M Volleyball coaching staff in the Summer of 2025.

Butler comes to Canyon following two seasons at the Assistant Coach at Blinn College. This past season the Buccaneers went 38-4 with an unbeaten 14-0 mark in Region XIV action. Blinn claimed victories over Panola College and Navarro College to win the Region XIV Tournament, advancing to the NJCAA Division I Championships in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Prior to joining Blinn, Butler served as both a physical education and science teacher for Paradise Valley Unified School District (Arizona). Butler previously served as head coach of Desert Mountain High School (Scottsdale, Ariz.) from 2015-17.

Butler is a native of Arizona and has developed a coaching philosophy which includes setting high expectations, teaching hard work and dedication, and providing a competitive yet fun learning experience while doing things the right way. Since 1987, Butler has coached middle school and high school volleyball, softball, basketball, and track, while also working as a club volleyball head coach in Arizona.

During her career as a volleyball player, Butler was named a high school All-American as a member of the Paradise Valley High School team, as well as an Academic All-American and team captain of the GCU volleyball team.
