Michele Furlong enters her first season as the WT Volleyball Assistant Coach in 2015. Furlong comes to Canyon following a stint as the Graduate Assistant Coach at Texas Woman’s during the 2013 season when the Pioneers advanced to the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament. Furlong played club volleyball in the Sports Performance Program (Chicago), a program notorious for training the best setters in the nation. She played collegiately as a setter at Washington State and Wichita State then began her coaching career with the Washington State men’s volleyball team.

Furlong brings a wealth of club volleyball experience to Canyon as she has coached juniors for several top clubs around the country including: Sport Performance (Chicago), Dallas Summit, Texas Advantage, Velocity, and Tejas Volleyball. She is also a Nationally Certified Official for USA Volleyball, the former North Texas Region Referee Chair, North Texas Region Board Member, and consistently serves as a head referee and tournament director for several tournaments in the Dallas area.
