Casey Bruno enters her third season as the Graduate Assistant Coach for the Lady Buffs in 2015.
Bruno registered a stellar four-year playing career at Truman State where she was standout defensive specialist that helped the Bulldogs to four appearances in the NCAA Postseason.
The Houston, Texas native ranks second in the Truman State record books in career digs per set (4.50) and she is the only player in school history to record 40 digs in a match. She picked up All-MIAA third team accolades following her junior season as well as an honorable mention selection after her senior campaign.Â
Bruno’s name also appears in the NCAA Division II record books as she tied the single match consecutive serve record of 17 (7 aces) in TSU’s Regional Quarterfnal against Albany (Ga.) in 2007. The Bulldogs were ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 Poll every week of Bruno’s four-year career.
During her prep career, Bruno was a four year standout at Lutheran South Academy where she was a three time All-State selection and the team MVP as a senior. The helped the Pioneers to a pair of State Runner-Up finishes while also claiming two Tour of Texas club volleyball championships.
Bruno received her Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art with a minor in Italian Studies from Truman State and she is currently pursuing her Master’s in Sports Management at West Texas A&M University.
