Brooke Alverson is in her second year as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications as she was hired in February of 2023 at West Texas A&M University.
Alverson was a coach for 15 years before making the jump to athletic communications. Most recently, she was an assistant coach of the 2022 Lady Buff Volleyball National Championship team that went 33-4. She went on to cover the Buff and Lady Buff track and field team in the spring of 2023 where they finished in the top four nationally for both indoor and outdoor seasons. The track and field men's and women's teams had a historic Lone Star Conference Championship where they finished first for the third year in a row, making LSC history, and qualified 51 student-athletes for the NCAA DII National Championships.
A member of the College Sports Communicators, Alverson helps with all sports camps marketing, scheduling of social media posts, and is an executive producer for WT The Rundown. She received a grant in 2024 for the CSC Convention.
Alverson earned her Bachelor of Arts in journalism with an emphasis in radio and television broadcasting from Stephen F. Austin. In her free time, she enjoys being with her nephews Beckham (10) and Brigham (6) as well as her dog, Shadow.
