2017 Outdoor: Member of 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Team where  she scored a school record 22 points for the Lady Buffs including winning a national title in the triple jump. She finished 2nd to teammate Fatime Affessi during the first day of competition with a wind-aided jump of 6.53 meters (21-5.25). She followed that up with a 5th place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 1.71 meters (5-7.25) on her first attempt. She won her second career individual title in the triple jump on her sixth and final attempt. Her mark of 13.28 meters (43-7) not only shattered her own school record but is also the 2nd best mark in NCAA Division II history. Earned U.S. Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors in the triple jump, long jump and high jump. Kaputin scored 28 points at the Lone Star Conference Championships including winning back-to-back titles in the long and triple jump and a runner-up performance in the high jump. She jumped a wind-aided 13.20 meters (43-3.75) on her first attempt of the triple jump competition. She broke her own school record in the triple jump at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays where finished ninth in the “A” Section with a leap of 12.98 meters (42-7). She also finished ninth in the “A” section of the long jump with a mark of 6.04 meters (19-9.75). She broke the school and facility record in the long jump at the West Texas A&M Invitational with a leap of 6.39 meters (20-11.75) which ranked was the second best mark in the nation heading into the national meet. She ran a personal best time of 12.35 in the 100-meter dash at the WT Classic & Multi. She won the high jump at the West Texas A&M Last Chance with a clearance of 1.68 meters (5-6).

2017 Indoor: Kaputin was named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) National Women’s Field Athlete of the Year after she won the triple jump and scored 21 points at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala. She jumped 13.09 meters (42-11.5) on her third attempt of the competition to become the first Lady Buff in program history to win an individual title. Her mark is the 10th best mark in DII history as she is one of six women to have leaped farther than 13 meters in an indoor competition breaking the school and Papua New Guinea national record.  She also finished second in the long jump and sixth in the high jump at the championships to become the first Lady Buff in program history to earn three All-American honors at the same indoor championships. Earlier in the season she made history as she was named the USTFCCCA Division II Female Athlete of the Week after winning three events at the Lone Star Conference Championships including record breaking performances in the triple and long jump. She was also voted as the Female Field Athlete of the LSC Championships by the coaches after scoring 30 points and leading the WT to their fourth straight team title. During the LSC meet she broke the then-school, LSC record and national record in the long jump with a mark of 6.27 meters (20-7). That mark is also the 11th best in DII indoor history.  She earned 1st Team All-LSC and USTFCCCA All-Region honors in all the triple, long and high jump. Was named LSC Indoor Female Field of the Athlete of the Year after season becoming the first athlete (male or female) to win the award in program history.

2016 Outdoor: Became the first athlete since Tommy Curry in 2012 to earn All-American honors in three different events at the same championships. Her 14 points at the championships is the most by any WT athlete in school history. She finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 42-0.75 (12.82m) which broke the school and Papa New Guinea national record. She also finished sixth in the long and high jump. She set  a new school record in the long jump with a leap of 20-5 (6.22m) on her fourth attempt.  Earned USTFCCCA First Team All-American and All-Region honors in all three of those events. She was awarded the Bob Noble Award that is given to the Outstanding Female Field Athlete of the Lone Star Conference Championships after winning the long and triple jump and finishing seventh in the high jump. Named LSC Female Field Athlete of the Year after the conclusion of the outdoor season.

2016 Indoor: Redshirt.

North Iowa Area CC: Earned All-American honors in the triple jump, high jump and long jump at the 2015 National Junior College Championships. She finished her two year career with personal-bests of 12.31 meters (triple jump), 5.92 meters (long jump) and 1.73 meters (high jump).

High School: Graduated from Kokopo Secondary in 2012 where she competed on the track & field team under the tutelage of Mr. Buren Lazaruz. He competed in the high jump, triple jump, long jump, 100-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter.

Personal: Born on March 12, 1993. Daughter of David and Dorish Kaputin. Has two siblings. Majoring in general studies at West Texas A&M.
