2021: Appeared in 10 games for the Buffaloes during his junior campaign in 2021. Finished the season with 604 yards on 90 carries to average 6.7 per rush with four touchdowns. Caught nine passes out of the backfield for 66 yards and a touchdown. Rushed for a career-high 160 yards against Midwestern State on November 6, registered a pair of touchdown on th ground in the season finale against Bethel College. Named a Second Team All-Lone Star Conference honoree.

2020: Appeared in five games at running back and wide receiver. Recorded 17 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown while ranking third on the team in receptions. Caught 13 balls for 99 yards including a career-high seven receptions at Angelo State on Sept. 26. Rushed for 51 yards and a score on six carries in WT’s season opening win over Oklahoma Panhandle State. 

2019: Appeared in 10 games as a redshirt freshman rushing the ball 45 time for 249 yards and three touchdowns. Also recorded four receptions for 10 yards. Scored his first career touchdown in the inaugural game at Buffalo Stadium on a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter. Rushed for a career-high 117 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries against Central Washington. Recorded a career-long 11-yard reception against Western New Mexico. 

2018: Redshirt.

Lubbock Coronado High School: Was a four-year letterwinner for head coach Seth Parr. Earned 1^st Team All-State and All-District honors as senior after leading the Mustangs to a 13-1 record. Member of the National Honor Society and was named Mr. Coronado. Also lettered in basketball and track & field where he was a regional finalist in the triple jump.
 
Personal: Born on September 24, 1999. Son of J.R. and Bobby Compton. Has one sibling. Planning on majoring in sports medicine at WT.
