Southwestern Oklahoma State: Thornton played three seasons with the Bulldogs appearing and starting in 70 games averaging 18.3 points per game shooting 48.4 percent from the floor, 30.8 percent from the 3-point range and 72.9 percent from the free throw line to go along with eight rebounds a game...  He led the program to its 66-58 victory over Southern Nazarene in the great American Conference title game to earn Tournament MVP honors... Received All-Conference recognition in all three seasons with the Bulldogs and was named the GAC’s Newcomer of the Year in 2020... Led SWOSU’s offense each year, totaling 1,281 points to finish as SWOSU’s all-time leading scorer.  
 
Edmond North High School: Thornton played under head coach Terry Evans where he received First Team honors while winning a state title in his junior campaign, finishing the season 27-2...
