Biography
2009: During her sophomore season, Hewson scored nine goals for the Lady Buffs, totaling 39 shots with 22 shots on goal for a shot on goal percentage of .590 her sophomore season. Two of Hewson’s nine goals were game winning including an eight yard shot that bounced past the Truman State goalkeeper on Nov. 15 ensuring the Nov. 15 1-0 victory and the team’s advancement to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship. She would come through once again in post-season play shooting the fourth penalty kick into the back of the St. Edward’s net in a 4-1 penalty kick shootout victory to claim the program’s first ever Elite Eight berth. Hewson was named to the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll for her efforts in the classroom. Hewson ranked fifth in the LSC for goals (9).
2008: Hewson helped the Lady Buffs during her freshman season by scoring nine goals during her 21 games played. She also assisted 14 goals (second-highest among Lady Buff scorers), tallied two game-winning scores and registered a shot-on-goal percentage of .729.
High School: Hewson graduated from Netherhall School in 2005 to join Leeds United Ladies Soccer Academy, where she studied for a BTEC National Diploma in sports (2007). She played for Leeds United U21 in the English Northeast Premier League as a midfielder and striker, and she also played for her school and local club, Cambridge City, in both district and regional leagues. Hewson was the lead scorer for four consecutive years. She is qualified as a Junior Sports Leader and was named Footballer of the Year, and she holds a Football Association Level One coaching certificate.
Personal: Hewson is the daughter of David and Yvonne Hewson. She has three siblings, Samantha, Daniel, and Elizabeth. She is a Sports and Exercise Science major at West Texas A&M.
