Biography
Coach Jameson's Take: "Whitlee has shown a level of commitment to focusing on the process and taking action to improve each day. She has taken her natural talent and honed it to be a good college player. I am very excited to see just how good Whitlee can become as a Lady Buff because her game has grown so incredibly over the last three seasons. Last season, she finished on a strong note and will continue this year where she left off last. She is an amazing leader and will be instrumental in fostering a winning culture on the team.
2014-2015: Finished the season with her best all around tournament shooting 75-75-75. Took third place Midwestern State Invitational in toughest conditions of the season (71-82). Junior season stroke average of 78.05. Named to the second team All-LSC.
2013-14: Top finishes at the RMAC #1 (80-74), Mustang Intercollegiate (80-74), Oklahoma Intercollegiate (79-76) and Midwestern State Invitational (78-78). Completed the season with a 79.91 scoring average.
2012-13: Competed in every tournament as a freshman and had her score count on the top-4 78% of the rounds. Best finishes were at DBU Classic (78,78) and Bluebonnet Classic, where she placed 6th (78,77).
High School: Helped lead Andrew’s golf team to the 3A state championship in 2011-2012 and 2010-2011. Woods placed second at the 2012 state championship individually and was a two-year all-state honoree. She was a three-time academic excellence award winner and was in the top 20 percent of her class. She was a member of the Black and Golf Show Choir for three years.
Personal: Daughter of David and Viola Woods. She has two sisters, Cassandra Woods and Monica Lopez. Majoring in Communication Disorders at West Texas A&M to become a speech therapist.
