Biography
Coach Jameson’s Take: Coming from Andrew's High School's golf program will be a great benefit to Rachel as she joins our team. She is a very solid golfer who understands the importance of a team that pushes one another to work towards achieving excellence. As a senior, Rachel achieved many great things, and I fully expect her to continue her winning record at WT.
WGCA All-American Scholar Team
2019-20: Had a strong sophomore season competing in all six tournaments for the Lady Buffs finishing with a stroke average of 78.14. She recorded her best finish of the season, T3rd, at the WT Fall Invitational after shooting an opening round 2-over, 74, to help the Lady Buffs win the tournament for the fifth straight year. She also finished in the Top 30 at the DEE National Preview (28th), DII West Region Preview (T29th), SEU Crosswind Gloves Invite (T27th) and Rattler Invitational (T20th).
WGCA All-American Scholar Team
2018-19: Was named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team after competing in nine events as a freshman with a scoring average of 79.47. Competed as an individual in her first two tournaments where she finished tied for 36that the WT Fall Invitational and tied for 28that the Skyhawk Fall Intercollegiate. Opened the spring season at the Rattler Invitational where she tied for 45thfollowed by her best 36-hole total of the season (152) at the El Cheapo Classic where she finished tied for 22nd. In the span of a week, she finished tied for 42ndat the Mustang Intercollegiate and tied for 40that the. WT Desert Invite. Was part of the Lady Buffs squad that won their first-ever Lone Star Conference Championship after finishing tied for 30thwith a 36-hole total of 158. Helped WT finish second at the NCAA DII West Regional at the Amarillo Country Club after shooting a 54-hole total of 230 including a three-over, 74, in the second round. Finished tied for 86th in her first NCAA Division II National Championship with a 54-hole total of 259.
Andrews High School: Competed in the Texas 4A State tournament in 2016, 2017, and 2018, all of which she led the Bushland team to state championship titles and as an individual finished 7th, 4th and 3rd respectively. Won the individual title at the Red Raider Classic her senior year shooting 73, 73.
Personal: Born February 21, 2000. Parents are Kelley and David Huffman. Has a brother. Is undecided upon her major at WT.
