Biography

Coach Jameson’s Take:  Mattye is a true joy to coach.  From her freshman season to now, she has grown immensely as a golfer due to her commitment to get the most our of each minute of practice.  As a four-year starter, Mattye has been the backbone of the Lady Buff squad.  She knows how to succeed and leads by example.

2016-17 Highlights:  Mattye started the year hot, winning the Farmers Insurance Samual Proal shooting 72-74.   Led the team in season scoring average and finished in the top-5 at five tournaments, including St. Edward’s Invitational shooting 73-69. Placed T13 at the NCAA DII National Championship.  Named as a member of the All- Lone Star Conference 1st team.  Earned All-LSC Academic Team and WGCA Scholar All-American honors.

2015-16 Highlights:  Competed in every tournament for the Lady Buffs, with every round played counting toward the team score. Top finish came at WT’s home tournament, where she placed T9 shooting 77, 76.  Shot 73, 72, 79 at the NCAA DII Regional Championship en route to the team qualifying for the National Championship.  Honored as an All-LSC Academic team member.  Earned All-LSC Honorable Mention honors.  Tabbed WGCA Scholar All-American team.
 
2014-15:  Best finish of the season came at WT’s home tournament, where she placed 5th individually shooting 74-73. Took 10th place at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate with rounds of 72-77.  Earned WGCA All-America Scholar Honors for her high GPA.
 
High School: A regional qualifier all four years of high school.  Fired 76 -78 at regionals as a senior and just missed state, finishing fourth at regionals. Tied for seventh at the state preview at Onion Creek (77) . Finished first as a senior at Quail Creek Country Club with a 75.
 
Personal: Daughter Robert and Wendy Mason.  Has two siblings, McKenna and G age.  Plans to major in pre-physical therapy.
