Surachanee “Hammerli” Sriyai, from Bangkok, Thailand, returns to West Texas A&M Women’s Golf as the volunteer assistant women’s golf coach. She played at West Texas A&M under Coach Meredith Jameson during the 2009-2012 seasons. Hammerli was the top player all four years at WT and a crucial component of the 2009 team that advanced to the NCAA National Championship, the first team appearance in program in history. Accolades surrounded Hammerli during her tenure as a Lady Buff. She was honored as a 4-time LSC 1st Team All-Conference Member, was named LSC player of the year numerous times, and brought home several tournament wins.
Hammerli has been studying at Texas Tech since leaving WT. In 2012 she completed her Masters in Political Science-Comparative Politics and International Relations. Currently she is a doctoral student at Texas Tech and is writing her dissertation on Political Communication and Digital Politics.
