Biography

2015: Erwin, the 2015 Lone Star Conference Player of the Year and back-to-back Daktronics Ron Lenz National Player of the Year, finished off her WT career in style as the Anna native registered one of the best statistical seasons in Division II history in 2015. She hit .424 with nine doubles, three triples and 23 homeruns to drive in 71 RBI while tallying 145 total bases and scoring a LSC single season record 83 runs. Erwin registered an amazing slugging percentage of 1.077 as she started 55 of 56 games for the Lady Buffs, the LSC Golden Glove outfielder tallied 41 putouts and two assists with no errors in right field for a perfect fielding clip of 1.000. She set new career LSC and school marks in homeruns (62), runs batted-in (244) and runs scored (265). Erwin led the Lady Buffs to back-to-back Lone Star Conference Championships (2014, 2015) and the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship as she was named a member of the College World Series All-Tournament Team. The defending Lone Star Conference Female Athlete of the Year is tied for 4th in NCAA Division II history with 62 homeruns while ranking fourth all-time in runs scored (265), sixth in runs batted-in (244) and fourth in total bases (548). Erwin became just the second player in Division II history to win the Daktronics Ron Lenz National Player of the Year award twice in a career and she is the only player ever to win the award in back-to-back seasons. She was named an NFCA and Daktronics 1st Team All-American for her efforts on the diamond, picking up Daktronics South Central Region Player of the Year accolades for the second straight season.

2014: Erwin registered one of the best statistical seasons by any player in Lone Star Conference history as a junior in 2014 as she led the Lady Buffs to the program’s first ever National Championship with a 60-7 overall record. The Anna product hit an amazing .459 with 20 doubles, six triples, 18 homeruns and 75 RBI for an astonishing slugging percentage of .902 while walking 42 times to register an on-base percentage of .574 while tallying 57 putouts and seven assists from right field for a fielding percentage of .970. Erwin was the offensive spark for the Lady Buffs during the postseason, hitting .333 with two doubles, two triples and one homerun to drive in nine RBI with four of those runs batted in coming in Salem during the College World Series as the junior was name to the DII CWS All-Tournament Team. Erwin was named the Daktronics Ron Lenz Player of the Year for her efforts on the diamond as well as an All-American by Daktronics (1st Team) and the National Fastpitch Coaches Associaton (2nd Team). She put her name on the Lone Star Conference record books as well as she broke the LSC record for runs scored (81) in a single season, which is fifth all-time in NCAA history, to pass Angelo State standout Morgan Spearman while also tying the league's single season record for total bases with 175 (Sandy James, ASU '09) which ranks third all-time in NCAA history.

2013: Erwin continued to put up huge numbers for the Lady Buffs during her sophomore campaign in 2013, hitting .352 with 11 doubles, five triples and a team leading 15 homeruns to drive in 62 RBI for a slugging percentage of .727. She made a flawless transition to the outfield, starting all 57 games in right field for WT, registering 34 putouts and two assists for a fielding percentage of .949 while also leading the team with 12 stolen bases on 13 attempts. Erwin was named WT’s fourth All-American in program history on May 23rd as she picked up Daktronics 2nd Team accolades. The Anna native was also a 1st Team All-LSC selection and a member of the LSC All-Tournament Team.

2012: Erwin became one of the most exciting players to watch at the plate in the Lone Star Conference as a true freshman in 2012, seeing time in all 58 games with 50 starts at third base for the Lady Buffs. Erwin hit an impressive .377 with nine doubles, nine triples and six homeruns to drive in 36 RBI with a slugging percentage of .685. Her nine triples led the Lone Star Conference and also rank first in the WT record book for most in a single season. In the infield, she registered a fielding percentage of .894 with 39 putouts and 96 assists. Erwin was named to the All-Lone Star Conference Third Team for her efforts on the diamond.

High School: Erwin graduated from Anna HS (Texas) in 2011 where she played third base, shortstop and pitched for the Coyotes under head coach Tressi Brown. She was named the Coyote’s Offensive MVP three times and was also selected First Team All-District twice, she hit 23 HR’s her senior season when AHS won the Bi-District and Area Championships. Erwin also lettered in volleyball, basketball and track for the Coyotes and was a four time Academic All-District selection.

Major: Erwin is an Athletic Training major at West Texas A&M with a minor in Sports & Exercise Science.

Personal: Erwin in the daughter of Anthony and Tena Erwin and has three siblings: Terry, Emily and John.
