Dr. Ronald Ting is in his fifth year at WT after joining the staff as a graduate assistant athletic trainer in 2019.  He was retained and elevated to assistant athletic trainer in August of 2021. Ting works with the men’s soccer and softball teams while teaching the Introduction to Athletic Training class for the Sports and Exercise Science department.

The San Leandro, California native came to WT from as the head athletic trainer for Prospect High School in Saratoga, CA and worked for VibrantCare Rehabilitation at the FedEx Oakland hub as an industrial athletic trainer.  He also has covered Men’s and Women’s Rugby at Sacramento State University in California and also worked with Krieswirth Sports Medicine, covering Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournaments in the Northern California area.  

Ting earned his Doctorate of Health Science from the University of the Pacific in December 2024. Ting earned his Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science from West Texas A&M in May 2021 while working with the women’s basketball, women’s soccer, and softball teams as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. Ting was also the athletic trainer for the NCAA Division II Softball National Championship team in 2021. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from the University of the Pacific in May 2018.

He is NATA Board Certified since May 2018. Additionally, Ting holds CPR and Mental Health First Aid certifications.
