Biography

2022:
Johnson was a lock at the top of the WT batting order as the Albuquerque, New Mexico native finished the year hitting .403 with 16 doubles, three triples and 11 long balls to drive in 61 RBI for a slugging percentage of .657. The First Team All-Lone Star Conference honoree has walked 18 times to go along with 24 hit-by-pitch for an on-base percentage of .489 while registering 69 putouts in the outfield. He was named a Second Team D2CCA All-American while also being named an Honorable Mention NCBWA All-American honoree and a CoSIDA Academic All-American. Johnson became the second Buff in program history to claim Academic All-American honors, joining Tag Baxter in 2019 (Second Team).

2021:
Johnson was a staple in the lineup for the Buffs during his first season in Canyon in 2021, seeing time in 35 games. The Albuquerque native hit .336 with 15 doubles, four triples and two homeruns to drive in 38 RBI for a slugging percentage of .547 to go along with 14 walks and five hit-by-pitches for an on-base clip of .409. Defensively, Johnson registered a perfect fielding percentage with six putouts in the outfield. Johnson was named Second Team All-Lone Star Conference for his efforts on the diamond.

At Paradise Valley Community College:
Johnson came to WT following two seasons at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Arizona. Johnson hit .275 during 25 games of a pandemic-shortened 2020 season as he registered six doubles and 12 walks to drive in 18 RBI for a slugging percentage of .250. The talented outfielder hit .373 during his freshman campaign, registering seven doubles and three homeruns to drive in 30 RBI with 78 total bases for a slugging percentage of .470 to go along with 23 walks for an on-base clip of .475 to earn First Team All-Region honors along with First Team All-Conference accolades on the diamond.

At La Cueva High School. 
Johnson led La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico to an overall record of 27-3 and the 2018 New Mexico Class 6A State Title during his senior season, the 10th championship for one of the state's top programs. Johnson hit .422 during his prep career with 21 doubles, four triples and six homeruns to drive in 69 RBI for a slugging percentage of .673.

Personal:
Born February 2, 2000. Son of Todd and Kristen Johnson and he has one sibling, Maura. Majoring in Pre-Med (Biology) at West Texas A&M.
